Restaurant Review – Del Toro Lisburn

Posted in Restaurant Reviews by wiseguyrussell on December 29, 2009

I really would like to give you a review of Del Toro in Lisburn, the new steak house that has just opened however sadly it is not meant to be.

I planned on going there on New Years Eve with my family (11 people) to celebrate my Mothers birthday, however a day after making the booking the Manager called me up to inform me that they would not be able to offer us the normal menu but rather the New Year’s Eve gourmet menu at a staggering £45 per head. (plus a 10% service charge)

We cancelled !

In times of a recession and in Lisburn of all places, how a restaurant thinks they can get away with £45 a head for a meal just baffles me.

Sounds like an awful experience – you should put your review on lookaly.com.

You should try the little bistro in the square beside next it is very reasonable and all food cooked fresh to order.

£45 for a new year gourmet menu at Del Toro sounds like a steal Mr wiseguy. Having eaten at Del Toro now on 4 occassions I could not recommend it high enough. The decor is contemporary but welcoming, the staff were friendly and attentive and most importantly the food is excellent. The rib -eye steaks are to die for, as is the seafood pasta not to mention the squid starter or the wild boar my dinner companions had. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and having bad more money for meals in bad restaurants before I would say Del Toro offers high quality food for a fair price!

Spoken just like an employee ! I jest.

Yes, £45 each would have been fine for a couple, but not for a family.

I have not been but hear varied reports, I will try it

I wouldnt make a good waitress- believe me!Please tell me where I can find a fine restaurant offering a new year menu for £45 per couple and Ill go next year. I would recommend you give them a try honestly- I’m sure you wont be disappointed. We had a lovely family lunch their a few weeks ago with our 3 kids and it was good value for money.
